The Heron

£360.00

The Heron 80cm Rigid Heddle Loom

The Heron is the largest loom in the Oaken Craft range, designed for those who want the freedom to create wider pieces such as wraps, shawls, and wall hangings. Handcrafted on Dartmoor from locally sourced oak, it combines strength, balance, and refined simplicity—built with the same attention to detail that defines every Oaken Craft loom.

The loom is assembled using wooden pegs and a handmade hammer, both included in the box. It’s a straightforward and satisfying process that creates a solid, screw-free frame with clean lines and a lasting fit.

Each Heron loom arrives beautifully sanded and unoiled, ready for you to finish at home. A small bottle of natural finishing oil is included, along with a small saw for trimming the pegs flush once assembled. The moment of oiling is one of the most enjoyable parts—watching the oak deepen in tone and the grain come to life beneath your hands.

(Please note: the photos currently shown are of an earlier version. The loom you receive will be the updated peg-and-hammer design.)
